MEET BRIANNE
Brianne Wakefield is, first and foremost, a woman of faith, a devoted wife of 20 years, and a proud mother of four, in addition to helping care for two nieces. As a Christian, she believes deeply in the importance of serving others and being actively involved in her community. With a calling placed on her heart to run for office, Brianne has committed herself fully to working hard, connecting with residents, and making a meaningful difference.New York State Senate District 4 is ready for new leadership.
After moving to Bay Shore in 2014, she quickly became engaged in local civic life. With the encouragement of then-Senator Phil Boyle, she joined local advocacy groups and eventually became President of a local club. Her leadership has provided valuable experience in grassroots organizing and community engagement.
She currently serves on the Suffolk County Women’s Advisory Board, where she is Chairperson of the Human and Sex Trafficking Subcommittee. In this role, Brianne focuses on advancing solutions and exploring legislative action to combat human and sex trafficking across Long Island. Brianne was honored as a Woman of Distinction for the 11th District in 2023.
Brianne is a strong voice on affordability and energy policy, recognizing the growing burden placed on families and small businesses by New York’s climate mandates under the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act. She believes policies must balance environmental goals with real-world affordability and reliability for working families.
As a candidate for Senate District 4, Brianne is focused on restoring strong values and common-sense leadership to Albany. She is committed to reforming disastrous bail laws, reversing damaging discovery laws, protecting parental rights-including religious exemptions, improving care for senior citizens, aggressively combating human and sex trafficking, addressing homelessness and substance abuse, and strengthening responses to the mental health crisis impacting children and young adults.
